Here\u2019s how:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to \u201cSettings\u201d and select \u201cAccount and Settings\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the \u201cExpenses\u201d tab. In the \u201cPurchase Orders\u201d section, click the edit icon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Turn on the \u201cUse Purchase Orders\u201d option.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once done, just save your changes and go to the next step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-step-2-create-purchase-orders-and-send\">Step 2: Create purchase orders and send<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just follow these steps to create purchase orders on QuickBooks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click \u201c+New\u201d and select \u201cPurchase Order\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose your supplier from the dropdown menu, review the mailing address, and add the items you want to purchase.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you\u2019re shipping directly to the customer, confirm the shipping address.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save the purchase order for later or send it immediately to your supplier.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you select save the purchase order for later, you can find it under \u201cExpenses.\u201d As soon as you\u2019re ready, click \u201cSend\u201d in the action column.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-step-3-update-purchase-order-status\">Step 3: Update purchase order status<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you create a purchase order, its status defaults to \u201cOpen\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After your supplier accepts the purchase order, you can add it to an expense or bill to finalize the transaction. The transaction you use depends on when you pay for the items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your options are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preparing an item receipt if you\u2019ll be billed later.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creating a bill if you were billed upon receiving the goods.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Logging a check or credit card charge if you paid upon receiving the items.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once your customer receives everything on the purchase order, QuickBooks will mark that purchase order as \u201cReceived in Full\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-gear-quickbooks-for-growth\">Gear QuickBooks for growth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">QuickBooks has lots of tools to help with managing your finances. That\u2019s why it\u2019s a great source of truth about your business\u2019 health.
