Here are the steps to do so:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Select the gear icon.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Under the \u2018Recurring Transactions\u2019 drop-down menu, click \u2018New\u2019.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Under \u2018Transaction Type\u2019, choose \u2018Invoice\u2019, and then click \u2018OK\u2019.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">For \u2018Type\u2019, select \u2018Scheduled\u2019.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Select \u2018Automatically send emails\u2019.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Fill out any remaining fields that are relevant, then click \u2018Save template\u2019.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Repeat the steps above for each customer you\u2019d like to create a recurring invoice for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To set up automatic payments in QuickBooks Online, you have to enable Autopay on your recurring invoices. This is done through QuickBooks Payments and is an additional charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, if you don\u2019t already have one, you\u2019ll have to sign up for a QuickBooks Payments account. The fees for Autopay are consistent with <a href=\"https:\/\/quickbooks.intuit.com\/payments\/pricing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">QuickBooks Payments&#8217; pricing model<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"can-you-automate-invoices-in-quickbooks-desktop\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can you automate invoices in QuickBooks Desktop?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We determined through our tests that QuickBooks Desktop allows you to set up recurring invoices. However, it\u2019s done a bit differently on QuickBooks Desktop than in QuickBooks Online.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You begin by creating an invoice just as you typically would.
