{"id":1543,"date":"2016-09-22T14:58:53","date_gmt":"2016-09-22T18:58:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.method.me\/blog\/?p=1543"},"modified":"2025-12-06T06:00:37","modified_gmt":"2025-12-06T11:00:37","slug":"quickbooks-desktop-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.method.me\/blog\/quickbooks-desktop-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"QuickBooks Desktop 2017&#8230;Touchdown!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With many growing small businesses needing the more powerful features in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, especially for inventory management and end-to-end accounting workflows, there\u2019s an important place in the small business ecosystem for QuickBooks Desktop. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s amazing to see Intuit continuing to support and invest in it\u2019s more powerful, Desktop product, while also helping businesses move to cloud accounting with QuickBooks Online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On September 19th, Intuit released QuickBooks Desktop 2017, and it\u2019s packed with lots of helpful, time-saving features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s what\u2019s new:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Searching customers, vendors etc is faster.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">New filters added for customer type and vendor type.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Search as you type. It\u2019s like when you do a Google search and possible matches show up as you\u2019re typing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Searching amounts is easier.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">For example, if you need to find a transaction with a number, but can\u2019t remember the exact number, you can use this new filter to search amount ranges in reports and transactions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Multi-user mode is better.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Now it\u2019s easier to switch to single-user mode, and see who\u2019s logged in so you can give them time to save their work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Use QuickBooks messenger to chat with others who are logged in, and quickly coordinate the best time to switch between single and multi-user mode.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>See filters applied to reports.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Click the Show button to display all of your filters on a report.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>See deleted users on reports.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Rather than seeing \u201cunknown\u201d, you\u2019ll now see users that you deleted on all reports by username.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Filter selections are enhanced.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Easily select multiple names like Customers, Item, Vendor or Account Filter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Notification when waiting on deposits.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">You\u2019ll see a red notification for waiting deposits on the banking section of your QuickBooks Desktop home screen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Track credit card status.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">When a credit card charge is reconciled, you\u2019ll see a \u201ccleared\u201d stamp right on the transaction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Schedule and send reports by email.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">You can now set-up a schedule to automatically email memorized reports. Choose the time of day and the frequency for sending the report, and QBD will do the rest for you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The best part for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.method.me\/\">Method<\/a> users is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.method.me\">Method\u2019s<\/a> industry-leading <a href=\"https:\/\/www.method.me\/crm-quickbooks\/\">sync engine<\/a> will seamlessly send your data back and forth between QuickBooks Desktop 2017 and Method CRM.
